Public hearings on P750 minimum wage petition in E. Visayas start on April 22

TACLOBAN CITY – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board VIII is set to conduct a series of public hearings on minimum wage adjustments for private-sector workers and kasambahay (domestic workers) in Eastern Visayas.

A petition for minimum wage adjustment was filed on March 8, 2022, by Solidarity Unions in the Philippines for Empowerment and Reforms (SUPER) with a business address at 115-D Fernando Poe Jr. Avenue, Quezon City.

The petition is in support of a proposed new minimum wage of P750.00 in Region VIII (Eastern Visayas). Said petition will be heard in accordance with the schedule set by RTWPB VIII.

Meanwhile, separate public hearings on the minimum wage adjustment for kasambay or domestic workers in Eastern Visayas will be held.

Parties wishing to participate in the hearings should contact RTWPB-VIII and submit position papers in person at the DOLE-RO8 Compound, Trece Martires Street, Tacloban City, or via email at rtwpb_8@yahoo.com between April 22, 2022, and May 23, 2022. —Tacloban News Update
