DPWH-TCDEO activates Disaster Risk Reduction Management Team in preparation for Typhoon Odette

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Tacloban City District Engineering Office (TCDEO) – field officials and personnel are on high alert in anticipation of Typhoon Odette, which is expected to hit the region this week.

Maintenance personnel and crew have been instructed to begin early preparations such as clearing inlets, cleaning lined canals, and trimming and pruning activities to prevent drainage blockage and overflowing of water causing major flooding, as well as any untoward incidents that may occur before, during, and after the typhoon.

Furthermore, all available and operational equipment is now prepared and strategically positioned for easy deployment on landslide and flash flood-prone road sections.
