MANILA —The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) announced the initial release of P1.0 billion to assist affected local government units (LGUs) in addressing the adverse effects and damages caused by Typhoon Odette.

Financial assistance will be extended to affected LGUs in Region IV-B (MIMAROPA), Region VI (Western Visayas), Region VII (Central Visayas), Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), Region X (Northern Mindanao), and Region XIII (Caraga), which President Rodrigo Duterte recently declared a State of Calamity

The DBM computed the allocations for the respective regions based on the Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center's (DROMIC) report on the number of affected families/individuals and damage to infrastructure and agriculture sectors.

The total funding requirement was deducted from the FY 2021 Contingent Fund and will be distributed directly by the Bureau of Treasury to the concerned local government units (LGUs) via their authorized government servicing banks. (DBM/PRESS RELEASE)
