Eastern Visayas receives more than 4M doses of COVID-19 vaccine in total

TACLOBAN CITY — A total of 304,630 doses of COVID-19 vaccine arrived this morning at Tacloban City's Daniel Z Romualdez (DZR) Airport via two separate flights.

115,830 doses of Pfizer, 30,000 doses of Gamaleya, and 34,800 doses of Astrazeneca vaccines arrived first, flown in by Cebu Pacific around 7:30 a.m.

An hour later, a shipment of 124,000 doses of Moderna vaccines arrived via Philippine Airlines at DZR Airport.

The newly arrived COVID-19 vaccines have been distributed to six provinces and two cities for vaccination of the remaining unvaccinated population, including the pediatric sector, as well as vaccination of health care workers who require booster doses.

All vaccines previously allocated to the provinces of Samar, Easter Samar, Northern Samar, and Leyte were delivered directly to the respective LGUs via third-party logistics providers.

While the vaccines allocated to the provinces of Biliran and Southern Leyte were temporarily stored at the DOH EVCHD's Cold Storage Facility.

Eastern Visayas has received 4,214,410 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to date.

As of November 19, 2021, over 2.5 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine had been administered. Over 1 million residents of Eastern Visayas have received their final dose of COVID-19 vaccination, while approximately 1.5 million have received their first dose.
