Fire destroys ten houses in Brgy. 96 Calanipawan, Tacloban City

TACLOBAN CITY — Ten houses were destroyed after a fire broke out in Barangay 96 Calanipawan, Tacloban City on Saturday morning, May 1, 2021.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) - Regional Office 8 told Bombo Radyo that according to their initial investigation, the fire started on the house owned by Arlene Cabudoc wherein only children were left inside before the incident happened.


The incident occurred at 11:15 a.m. where the burnt houses were all made of light materials. BFP declared fire-out at 11:45 am.

Twelve families were affected by the fire accident while no casualties or injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) of Tacloban LGU already provided relief aid to affected families. The initial damage is estimated at P562,000.
