TACLOBAN CITY (PR) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Leyte Provincial Statistical Office, has officially opened the first-ever PhilSys Fixed Registration Center in the Eastern Visayas Region last 26 April 2021. The PhilSys Registration Center located on the 3rd Floor, Robinsons North Tacloban is the 38th registration center in the province.
The opening ceremony was attended by PSA Regional Director Wilma A. Parente, Chief Statistical Specialist Sheryl Ann A. Jamisola, CRASD Chief Anesia S. Babante, PhilSys Focal Person Rose A. Ballera, Executive Assistant Irish Sheryll H. Tonog, and Assistant Vice President - Land Bank of the Philippines Jecelyn G. Rodriguez.
There are two other PhilSys Registration Centers in Tacloban City namely: Tacloban City Convention Center (Astrodome) and Tacloban North City Hall Extension Office. The former started its operations last 2 February 2021 while the latter started its operations last 30 March 2021. Schedule and list of barangays to be catered are posted in each PhilSys Registration Center for the public’s reference.
PhilSys aims to promote ease of doing business with both the government agencies and private offices. With the PhilID, an individual will no longer need to present numerous cards and documents to prove one’s identity.
In the time of the pandemic, PSA still wants to achieve its most important function- bringing efficient and quality service near to the Filipino people. With this, the cooperation of all is being sought for a safe and seamless PhilSys Registration. Everyone is encouraged to follow health protocols such as wearing of facemask and face shield at all times.
