Police officer stabbed to death by wife in Palo, Leyte

Tragedy struck on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Palo, Leyte as a 47-year-old police officer was stabbed to death by his wife during an altercation at their home.

TACLOBAN CITY – A 47-year-old police officer was brutally murdered by his wife on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Palo, Leyte. The victim has been identified as Staff Sgt. Kerwin Pasana, who was assigned to the Regional Headquarters Support Unit in Palo.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspect, 33-year-old Ronalyn, confronted Pasana after he arrived home after midnight, resulting in a physical altercation. 

During the argument, Ronalyn repeatedly stabbed Pasana in the right upper thigh.

The victim's brother, who lived next door, overheard the commotion and went to see how the couple was doing when he heard it. Upon his arrival, he found Pasana unconscious, and Ronalyn was sitting next to him.

Responding barangay tanods recovered the kitchen knife used in the attack and turned it over to the police.

Pasana was rushed to the Leyte Provincial Hospital (LPH) in Palo, where he was pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Ronalyn has been taken into custody at the Palo Municipal Police Station.
