Barangay tanod nabbed over illegal drugs in Tacloban North

TACLOBAN CITY — A barangay tanod was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Guadalupe Heights Phase 2, Barangay 105 San Isidro (Suhi), Tacloban City on Monday, May 10, 2021

The police identified the suspect as Eric Daantos, 35-years old, single, barangay tanod, and a resident of said barangay. He is a watchlisted drug personality.


Tacloban Police Station 2 conducted the successful buy-bust operation, led by Plt Rey T. Baldicano Jr., under the direct supervision of PMaj Winrich Laya A. Lim, Station commander, PS2, in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-8.

Purchased from Daantos is one sachet of suspected shabu and confiscated from him are seven sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 3 grams.


The total market value of the suspected shabu taken from Daantos is estimated at around P30,000.

Aside from the sachets of suspected shabu, the police recovered from his possession a P500 buy-bust money, two (2) pieces of 12 GA Winchester ammunition, one (1) caliber .45 mm ammunition, and one (1) caliber .357 ammunition.


The suspect is now under the custody of this Tacloban Police Station 2 and appropriate criminal charges for violation of RA 9165 Sec. 5 and 11 and R.A. 10591 are being prepared for filing in court against him. —Tacloban News Update (Source: Tacloban PNP)
